Toyota Camry in India

Early in 2006 New Toyota Camry was presented at Detroit Auto show and Japan and soon Toyota partners in India Toyota Kirloskar Motor launched the all new Camry in India few months after its initial debut.

The car was priced at Rs. 21.9 lakh and Rs 19.4 lakh for its automatic transmission version and manual transmission version respectively. The Camry comes with a new improved 2.4 liter, 4 cylinder VVT-i engine. The engine delivers a maximum power of 123kW @ 6000rpm and a maximum torque of 224Nm @ 4000rpm.

The experience of driving all new sixth generation Toyota Camry is beyond excellence. This car is for you if you prefer driving comfort and are ready to compromise on performance and speed. Remember, it is not a car for performance driving and no zip-zap-zoom.

Wood and beige color interior gives a feel of complete luxury car with enough head and legroom. Its aerodynamic exterior is just great which gives both sporty and elegant feel. Some of its exterior features are interesting like its wipers that work automatically by sensing raindrops on the windshield.

Though the price of the car is towards higher side as compared to other luxury cars in India, this car has caught up the pace and even enjoys 2-3 weeks waiting period.

Safety Features:
Vehicle Stability Control is a safety system that automatically controls engine output and braking power on each wheel when the front/rear wheels have a strong tendency to skid laterally. This enhances safety and stability at all speeds. The driver is forced to slow down when entering a corner. Other safety features includes:

  • Vehicle stability control
  • Large diameter disc brake
  • ABS with EBD
  • Brake assist
  • Impact absorbing structure
  • SRS Airbags
  • Seat belt – pretensioner and force limiter
  • Head impact protection
  • WIL (Whiplash Injury Lessening)
