    Maruti Zen Estilo Review

    AnkitBy AnkitMay 4, 2015Updated:May 4, 201522 Comments4 Mins Read

Maruti Zen Estilo Review: Maurti Zen Estilo was introduced to replace Maruti Zen. Maruti Zen had served more than 15 years with its jelly bean body and all aluminum 1000 cc engine. With competition in the segment which is most crowded with Maurti’s own Wagon R, Hyundai Santro, Tata Indica, and Matiz (which was withdrawn as Daewoo Motors was sold to General Motors). Also this segment has competition on lower end from Maruti Suzuki Alto and on upper end from Hyundai Getz and Maruti Swift. The replacement Maruti Zen Estilo had nothing in common from its predecessor other than name as Maruti Suzuki India wanted to encash the brand value of Maruti Zen, which was a much loved car. The car is based on Suzuki MR Wagon which was in production in Japan from 2001 to 2006 and power train of Wagon R, which is much powerful than 657 cc engine used in Japan. Even the suspension has been modified to meet Indian road condition. Maruti Zen Estilo was launched in 2006 position between Maruti Suzuki Alto and Maruti Suzuki WagonR.

The car is redesigned tall boy design is available in three petrol versions Lx, Lxi and Vxi. The 1061 cc, 4 cylinder F10D engine 4 valve per cylinder Multi Point Fuel Injection engine with 32 bit computer. It delivers Maximum Power of 64 bhp @ 6200 rpm and Maximum Torque of 84 Nm @ 3500 rpm. Maruti Zen Estilo can clock 60 Kmph in just 6 seconds and 100 Kmph in 16 second, which is even better than WagonR.

    Maruti Zen Estilo

It has McPherson Strut with torsion type roll control device in front suspension and rear uses coil spring and gar filled shock absorber linked with three link ride and isolated trailing arm. The stiffened suspension system is good on Indian Road even also on bad roads. Maruti Zen Estilo Lxi and Vxi models come with electronic Power Steering. The top end Vxi also comes with optional safety features like driver side SRS front airbags and Anti Lock Braking System (ABS).

The best thing about Maruti Zen Estilo is its smart, contemporary and elegant design and well crafted interior for the segment. The word Estilo means style in Spanish and this car is definitely the epitome of style and look. It has drop dead gorgeous look and stunning sleek lines in front. The tail lamp is good design using curves and spaces.

The interior are dual toned beige color are luxurious and plush. The dash board and instrument clutter look good in beige color. The car is comfortable and spacious. Maruti Zen Estilo is more fuel efficient than Wagon R and is also more easy drive in city.

Maruti Zen Estilo faces lot of competition as this a crowded category. Will this be another winner for Maruti Suzuki only time will tell?

      Hello Everybody,

I am completly satisfied with this car city like Puna or Mumbai this car is giving me 13 (with AC) 16-17 without AC. I would suggest here to get the better avarage you have to be perfect drive. City like puna (worst city in Asia for trafic) nonsence people. you have to drive carefully. After reading all views and feedback I would suggest this is funtastic car. I am using this car since Feb-2010 and today is Oct-2011. Friends don’t listen anybody go and select LXi or VXi as per your budget.

      Anand.

I bought Zen Estilo (VXi version) in Oct 2010, so far soo good.. I enjoy driving and it has good pic up. My only wory is on its milage, in city (Bangalore) it is giving about 10km per litre of petrol, but the delear had told me that it will give atlest about 15km but this is not the case. And also the side view is not very clear specially right side. Spacious wise I feel Hyundai i10 or even santro zing has good space compared to this car. Overall it is good.. value for money.

      Hi,

I am using Zen Estilo Vxi since Dec-2006. I love driving this car.
Its smooth, good pick up and good mileage too. Only problem is Reverse gear.
I have recommended this other and they are also happy with car.
Having Alloy wheels will definitely with advantage in terms of driving and style.

      Regards
      Sarang

i purchased the car in april 2009. its good to drive as it is confortable and smooth but the view from the front windscreen is restricted towards the right and left of the car creating a virtual blind spot which may lead to serious accidents if not causious and if you r in hurry (it is totally not ergonomically designed).

I have been using Zen Estilo since 8-9 months. I feel when the car is occupied by 5 perople, it does not give a desired pick up. Even for crossing small speed breakers, one has to bring the car to frist gear.

I am the owner of a Zenb Estilo since July 2008. In general the car is Ok. The mileage as informed to us by the dealer is just not achieveable. Average that i am getting is just about 10km per litre in city running. The view from the front windscreen is restricted towards the right and left of the car creating a virtual blind spot which can lead to serious accidents especially in traffic like we have in pune.
The suspension also leaves a lot to be desired. The car tends to rock from side to side. Ir is also a very noisy suspension even on the small road divider markers it gives a very bumpy ride.
