    2015 Volkswagen Vento India

Extend Volkswagen Polo and add a Boot and you have Vento. Buy this car for its refined 1.6ltr engine. Diesel variants for this car are a bit expensive so you might want to go for Petrol one.

Vento’s first edition was launched in 2010. The midsized sedan even managed to give tough competition to Honda City in 2011. It offers the combination of great design with impressive mechanical and safety features. Let’s take a look at some points to know more about Volkswagen Vento.

    The Force
New Vento is fitted with 1.5 liter TDI/Diesel engine that is combined with 7speed dual-shift automatic gearbox. This engine offers mileage of 21.21 KMPL. If you are looking for petrol variant, you can opt for 1.2 liter petrol engine that offers mileage of 16.93 KMPL. Vento’s 55 liters fuel tank is good enough to keep you away from fuel stations for considerable period of time while traveling on highway.

    What’s inside the new Vento?
Cabin offers lot of space, comfort along with luxurious feeling. There is ample headroom and legroom.

Smart controls mounted on steering wheel will definitely impress you. Driver’s seat can be easily adjusted. Similarly, you can also adjust the front passenger seat with the help of simple lever.

Rear AC vents help in perfectly maintaining the temperature inside the car. Interior’s color depends on variant that you opt for.

You can control various functions of the car using wonderfully crafted switches on multifunctional center console.

You can increase the visibility in the cabin during evening or night time by switching on foot well lights. Once you sit inside the cabin, you would definitely wish to spend maximum time inside. Cabin is good enough for five passengers.

After the launch of this sedan’s latest version, some industry experts compared its front with that of Volkswagen’s Polo hatch. But long wheel base, air dam, and fog lights in the new variant are enough to show the car maker’s efforts taken while developing the new design.

    Safety features
Organization called Global NCAP had conducted crash tests on cars sold in India during 2014. Almost all cars failed these crash tests. However, Volkswagen India immediately announced that it will start including safety features in its cars sold in India.

Vento’s latest edition offers several safety features like anti-lock braking system, key less entry, rear parking sensors, engine immobilizer, hill-hold function, electronic stabilization program, and dual front air-bags that reduce the risk of injury in case of collusion. Plus, anti-pinch technology used in windows, makes this car safe for kids.

    Competition
Hyundai Verna 1.6 CRDi automatic and Skoda Rapid 1.5 DSG are Vento’s main competition. Reviews suggest that Verna is not as good as Vento when it comes to comparing technical features.

New Vento’s suspension works perfectly in both, high and low speeds. So, this beauty seems one step ahead of its competitors when it comes to driving on bad roads.

Volkswagen Vento is available in colors like- terra beige, night blue, reflex silver, deep pearl black, candy white, toffee brown. Again, these colors are good enough compared to colors offered by competitors.

    Five Variants
Volkswagen India launched Vento’s latest edition in September 2014. However, reports published in newspapers suggest that the company has considerable amount of old car models in their warehouses. Volkswagen was also offering cash discounts of up to 90,000 on these old models during September 2014. So, if you love Vento’s features, but are confused about variants, you can walk into nearest dealership to check for available models and current offers.

Depending on your budget, you can choose either seven-speed double clutch automatic gearbox or five-speed manual gearbox variant of Volkswagen Vento.

Manual Vento 1.5 TDI comes with price tag of around Rs 8.57 lakh, while Vento 1.5 TDI DSG (automatic) comes with price tag of Rs 10.49 lakh. Vento 1.2 petrol DSG is available for around Rs 9.35 lakh. Prices may vary in various states depending on taxes.
