    Honda Dio Review

    adminBy adminNovember 1, 2015Updated:November 1, 20152 Comments4 Mins Read

You could go for this bike for its youthful looks and refined engine. Styling for this bike might not suit everybody so have a thorough look at it before buying.

Honda Dio is one of the successful scooters launched by the Japanese auto maker Honda Motor Company. The scooter has been awarded the honor of BBC Scooter of the Year award in 2003. The graphical texture of the Japanese scooter is very striking and the design also stands out among other scooters. The amazing looks of the scooter definitely make it a sure head turner.

    Design

The scooter wins the race outright with its rivals when it comes to the striking and charming looks of the scooter. It exudes brilliance in every bit of designing cues. 18 litres of storage is big enough to accommodate full size helmet and other items. Leg room is good enough to give a comfortable ride even for long distances and wider seats adds to it further. Sudden deflation in case of punchers at odd hours might be a worry of past as tubeless tyres gives a tension free ride even at night. Dual tone color and eye catching graphics adds to the beauty of this scooty.

    Engine

Honda Dio is powered by a 4 stroke one cylinder air cooled OHC engine that boasts of a displacement capacity of 102 cc and it is also capable of delivering the maximum power of 8.0 PS at 7000 rpm. It can also generate the maximum torque of 8.8 Nm at 5500 rpm. The power is sent to the wheels with the innovative V-matic transmission. The chassis is a High Rigidity Under Bone type chassis. The brakes of the Honda Dio are drum type brakes for both rear and front brakes. The fuel tank can store up to 6 liter of fuel which also includes 1 liter of reserve.

    Performance

The performance of the Honda Dio is quite good for a scooter in this category. It can give a god enough speed. The acceleration of the scooter is also very good as compared to many other scooters in the same segment and price range. It can go from 0-60kmph in just 12.2 seconds with a top speed of 83kmph. Even at the high speeds the scooter does not give vibrations which are very common in scooters. The handling of the scooter is very good. The ride quality is of the one of the best in class. 130mm drum brakes are fitted in front and rear which gives good braking power and stop it from 60-0kmph in 3 seconds.

    Mileage

Fuel efficiency for Dio might not be the best but is neck to neck with the best in the segment thanks to the HET technology fitted in the scooter that enhances its mileage. The 109cc scooty gives mileage of 51.5kmpl on city roads and an average of 56.5kmpl on highways. The company claimed mileage with ideal situation is 60kmph.
