2024 Harley Davidson Softail S Review

    The Standard Frame

The Softail Standard frame retains the classic lines. But the lightweight design and stiffness translate into a responsive ride. Nonetheless, be assured that the experience is unlike anything you have ever felt.

Make it a point to distinctly upgrade your Softail Standard with parts and accessories specifically tailored for your bike. After all, it should fit, work, and look right simultaneously.

Softail is well-balanced and very easy to handle. It is your dream bike. Although Softail is a beginner’s bike, it is powerful enough to be your first and last. Softail Standard could be the right bike for you if you can picture yourself on a classic cruiser.

It is called a Softail as a shortened form of a soft tail. It intentionally looks like a vintage motorcycle with a rigid hardtail frame and has a triangle of steel tubes at the rear axle, like on a bicycle frame. These tubes are, in fact, triangular swingarms with hidden shock absorbers.

The Harley-Davidson Softail models were first released in 1984. It was an effort to appeal to a more extensive customer base when they saw the need for motorcycles that offered a more comfortable riding experience over long distances.

    Fully Loaded

The mid-controls in Softail Standard mean your knees are pointed upwards. As a result, the Softail looks and feels like a big motorcycle. But its layout is designed in a compact and comfortable way for the rider. The easily adjustable mono-shock rear suspension allows for dynamic cornering while preserving the hardtail look.

This is why it is known as a cruiser. The Softail Standard is very comfortable. It has a low seat, with many having no suspension at all. As a result, it offers what some people consider to be the ultimate comfort over long distances. You can sit on it for hours and feel slight pain or discomfort.

The Harley-Davidson Softail Standard is a bike that looks like a hardtail with no observable rear suspension or rear shocks, as the rear suspension is hidden inside the frame. It does not appear to be a Sportster, as Sportsters typically have visible rear shocks.

Throttle It Out – Get Set to Ride

Ultimate seats for the Harley-Davidson Softail models are a two-piece system. This involves a separate rider and passenger seat. However, seats are so designed that the rider sits in the seat, not on the seat.

The 2024 Harley-Davidson Softail Standard offers a great ride even if you are not interested in customization. Thanks to 30 degrees of rake and 6.2 inches of trail alongside decent suspension, the riding position on this bike are comfortable and functional. The experience translates to handling being predictably stable.

The Softail Standard is an excellent choice for women who can handle the weight and want the extra power of the Milwaukee-Eight 107 engine that provides over 110 ft-lb of torque.

    Born to be a Biker

The Softail Standard is an excellent choice for touring. Simply because of its superb riding position and overall comfortable feel. This bike’s high mileage is 20,000 to 50,000 miles, as for other bikes. Moreover, the Standard comes with stretched riding position, making it easier for riders to log miles. You can also expect to get mid-mount foot controls on the Standard.

    Prices

The MSRP for Harley Softail Standard is $14,399 and is available in only one color vivid black.
