2024 Kawasaki Ninja ZX 6R Review

    What’s New for 2024?

The chassis of the 2024 ZX 6R retains the same frame and suspension along with the powerful liquid-cooled inline-four 636cc displacement engine. The notable updates include the revised cam profile and low-rpm performance. These enable the supersport class bike to meet stricter emission regulations.

The intake funnel gets a revised shape. And the airbox also witnesses change. They help increase the low-to-mid rpm performance of the bike. Then there are revisions to the exhaust design as well. The header pipes now feature a new layout. It helps improve feedback from the O2 sensor. And the exhaust pre-chamber aids in minimizing silencer volume alongside improving mass centralization.

Although these mechanical updates are not challenging, they enable the 2024 ZX 6R to meet Euro 5 regulations and re-enter European markets.

    Design and Appearance

The new styling changes in the design of the Ninja ZX 6R include the new front and side cowls. They now include compact LED headlights and a new windscreen as well. And the area around the air intake is painted for a sleeker design. The new windshield is shorter than before and has holes to relieve pressure. This helps in reducing buffeting.

The redesigned front and side fairings of the Ninja ZX 6R integrate very well into existing bodywork. The layered fairing design ideally absorbs vertical winglet-style inlets and chin spoilers. It helps redirect air while increasing rider comfort.

Following the fairing update, some new LED lighting comes to this supersport. The plastic projector headlights utilize lighting in low-beam settings. And the high beams are old reflector-style lamps. The integrated turn signals of the ZX 6R are upgraded with LEDs.

The latest ZX-6R is also available without ABS. It comes in Metallic Flat Spark Black, Ebony and Pearl Robotic White, and Metallic Graphite Gray. The ABS version is also available in the same color scheme. The non-ABS KRT and ABS KRT editions are available in Lime Green / Ebony.

    Technology and Features

The 2024 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R also comes out with some updates to the 636cc engine. These include a sports aesthetic revision and an overall electronics upgrade. However, this is not a ground-up revision. But it boasts several tweaks and features that align with pricier options.

The inline-4 engine has a few technical tweaks focused on low and midrange performance. Then there is a new camshaft profile and a revised intake shape of the funnel. The exhaust headers and collector pipes feature a new O2 sensor location. They are meant to optimize load and catalyzer volume.

The exhaust pre-chamber keeps the weight low on the motorcycle, reducing the mufflers’ bulkiness. And the 6-speed gearbox features a slip-and-assist clutch and an up-only quick shifter.

    Performance and Handling

The latest Ninja ZX 6R ABS unit has been updated for better control. And the new integrated riding modes combine traction control and power mode settings. The riding modes of the supersport consist of three settings. And they come along with a manual ‘rider’ mode as well.

You will love using the new color TFT display and smartphone connectivity. You can now conveniently connect your phone to the bike using the Rideology App to see vehicle information. Or use a riding log with GPS routes, notifications, and general settings.

    Riding Experience

The riding experience of this middleweight Ninja is exciting since you can match a given riding situation. You can also set power delivery to suit your preferences. And to top it all, the Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV rubber tires join in the fun.

Sit at the sportier end of the spectrum.
