    AmitBy AmitApril 16, 2026Updated:April 16, 2026No Comments10 Mins Read

A list of best-selling bikes from Hero Motocorp. The list is primarily dominated by 100cc commuter bikes. The scooter segment looks promising for the bike maker with the launch of the Hero Destini 125 and the all electric Vida. It is high time the company looked seriously into the 150cc and 200cc segments for long-term dominance. With growing competition from other brands in premium segments, Hero needs to expand its portfolio strategically. This article covers the top 7 best-selling Hero bikes in 2026, explaining why each one matters to Indian riders.

    1. Hero Splendor

    Hero Splendor Plus
Hero Honda Splendor to be precise, as this bike was launched when Honda was part of Hero bikes. This bike was based on the CD100 and was launched in 1994. Since 2009, more than 1 million units of it have been sold yearly, and it is still going strong despite a lot of new bikes being launched by its competition. In 2004 after 10 years of market dominance, Splendor+ was launched which again gave another best seller for the bike maker. In 2007, the Plus model was launched with new fairings and alloy wheels. Splendour Pro was another bike launched in 2011 that featured a self-start. After the split with Honda, in 2014 iSmart variant was launched, which again got a lot of people’s attention. It, however, sparked serious controversy due to the company’s claim about its super mileage, which was actually flawed. In total, there are 5 variants of this two-wheeler, and they have held the top position as the most-sold bike in India for many years, unchallenged.

    • Units Sold: 3,08,980 (February 2026)
    • Engine: 97.2cc (Splendor Plus)
    • Power: 5.9 kW @ 8000 rpm

It can go from 0-60kmph in just 7.8 seconds with a top speed of 85 kmph, which is good, looking at the engine displacement. Once again, HF Deluxe’s mileage is its highlight, with a range of 65 to 70 kmpl. This bike came a bit later in 2005, after Splendour and Passion, but soon became one of the highest-selling bikes in the low-cost bike segment. After 8 years, the HF Deluxe ECO variant was launched. Since then, there have not been many changes to this bike. Hero, in general, has not done much for its top-selling entry-level bike, as people love it as it is. There might be a chance of losing market share with a big upgrade.

    • Units Sold: 71,717 (February 2026)
    • Engine: 97.2 cc
    • Power: 8.36 Ps at 8000 rpm

In 2003, Passion Plus was launched with refreshed graphics, and in 2007, alloy wheels were added. There were primarily facelifts, and the bike has aged a lot, but it is not ready to retire yet, and Hero has no mood to do that either. In 2026, Hero upgraded the Xtreme 125R with cruise control. This is one of the unique offerings primarily in the 125cc segment. This was made possible by ride-by-wire throttle technology.

The cruise control helps on long highways. It lets riders lock in a speed without holding the throttle constantly. The new model also has multiple riding modes: Eco, Road, and Power. This is one of the most liked security features of Vida. The touchscreen display shows real-time information about battery, distance, and riding modes.

    Conclusion

The top 7 best-selling bikes in 2026 from Hero Motocorp tell us a story. It clearly shows that company has strong roots in the 100cc commuter segment. These bikes have become symbols of reliability and fuel efficiency in India, but things are shifting. The Destini 125 is gaining popularity. The Xtreme 125R appeals to younger, style-conscious riders. The Vida electric scooter is fast gaining ground and has opened a completely new market segment for Hero.

The challenge for Hero is evident. The 100cc segment is saturated and is growing very slowly. In the very near future, it might face the same fate as small cars in India. Many new competitors are entering the Indian two-wheeler market. Hero needs to strengthen its position in the 150cc and 200cc segments. These segments have higher profit margins and younger buyer bases. Bikes like the Hero Xtreme 200R and Karizma need more focus and innovation.

For now, Hero is still the market leader. However, it has only 3 bikes in the top 20 selling bikes in India. Over 3 million Splendor Plus bikes, 71,717 HF Deluxe units, and growing sales of Destini 125 show a strong market presence.

Markets are dynamic and is changing fast. New electric vehicles are coming from other brands. Japanese and Chinese manufacturers are launching competitive products. Hero must innovate faster in the premium segments. The success of Vida electric scooter shows that Hero can deliver quality electric vehicles.
