    Yamaha YZF R15

YZF-R15 was one of the 1st real sports bike in India. Though the bike looks good and sleek, still now with all the new bikes coming in, you need a fresher look. When it comes to build quality and finish, this bike has no competitor in its segment.

    Yamaha YZF R15 Review

Winning the Indian Motorcycle of the Year award and Bike of the Years award both in 2009, further strengthens the belief that Yamaha YZF-R15 has been a huge hit with bikers.

Yamaha YZF-R15 does not just border on being a breathtaking, envy – inspiring racing bike but it also lay strict emphasis on the rider’s comfort. The bike is structured to have a wide anterior space that provides security and protection to the rider and the seat is wide and comfortable and does not constrain the rider’s movements.

The bike has a 155 cc engine, a single cylinder with four valves, a four stroke engine and an overhead cam. Its liquid cool engine though is not the most powerful, still is a gem. The bike is fitted with sleek gear box which is again unmatched. Due to its age it might not be able to catch up with its counterparts in the segment but it is still joy to ride and runs smoothly even after 3-4 hours of speeding. Its other specifications are

    • It has an electric start system and a maximum power of 18.4 PS @ 10,000 rpm
    • The maximum torque is set at 14.2 Nm @ 7,500 rpm
    • The fuel tank capacity is of 11 liters and it has a fuel injection supply system
    • The transmission type is Return type 6-speed and the clutch is a wet multiple disc
    • It has a delta box frame system and dual channel ABS with disc brakes
    • At 141 kg it has a seat height of 815mm and the wheelbase is 1325 mm

The Yamaha YZF – R15 is available in multiple colors including Racing Blue, Metallic Red, Dark Knight and MotoGP Edition.

It takes NA for this this machine to reach from 0-60 kmph. When it comes to top speed Yamaha reaches up to approx. 140 kmph. This bike is not fast but most fuel efficient too in its segment and gives close to 45-51 kmpl.

Recently Yamaha has launched an improved and upgraded version of YZF – R15, known as R15 V4. Yamaha has revamped certain features of YZF – R15 like the Drivetrain unit, Engine Control unit or the ECU, traction control, quick shifter (select variants), LED lighting, USD front forks, wider tyres, split seats and improved aerodynamics.

Yamaha YZF – R15 excels not only in case of appearance but also control, performance, practicality and comfort.

ya r15 is a tipicle sports bike,& it picks up speed really quickly but the drawback is that it’s tyres r small so it skits on turns where as pulsar 220 does not skits tn turns,i think that that yamaha should consider the r15 tyres which could be thickened.other wise it’s a fantastic bike to drive & is up to expectations.

      only looks don’t matter
      power matters too
and when we talk of power , this bike fails to be a premium sports bike
as it only goes to 140 kmph. but it’s looks must be appreciated
      it looks passionate
when it is compared to a pulsar 220 or to a karizmaa 225,then yzf r15 is a better option
