The Honda CBR650R is the successor to the CBR600F. It is the perfect Sport bike for everyday riding where you can enjoy a sporty ride with incredible handling. Whether you are practical enough to be a daily rider or not, it is the four-cylinder engine, superbike styling, and suspension where the 2026 CBR650R E-Clutch shines. In addition, it is locked and loaded to improve your lifestyle.

    2026 Honda CBR650R

    • Powerful engine: Powered by a 649cc liquid-cooled four-cylinder engine.
    • Sharp and aerodynamic design: Aerodynamic bodywork and sharp lines (refreshed for 2024) give it a sporty and aggressive look, inspired by the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade.

    2026 Honda CBR650R Review

The 2026 CBR650R E-Clutch upgrade is better than ever — and now with a $700 lower MSRP than the 2025 model. This superbike is fast, fun, and, most of all, easy to ride. And you will be delighted to experience that Honda brings a pretty big gun to a knife fight.

Riding Is Joy – But Landing Is Difficult

The CBR650R delivers a perfect formula to get the most out of your riding experience. You can extract every ounce of power from this motorbike for a confidence-inspiring, sporty ride. It is a class apart, where you can compare this one with the performance of the bigger 1000cc liter-class superbikes.

The sweet inline-four, liquid-cooled 649cc engine of the CBR 650R gets the complete LED treatment all over, from the dual-lens headlamps to the turn indicators and the tail lamp, alongside a large fuel tank (4.1 gallons). In addition, the split-seat setup and side panels are minimalist. All put together, give this bike a rounded sport bike look and feel.

    Performance

The CBR650R is the most compact fully faired motorbike to feature a 649cc liquid-cooled four-cylinder, four-stroke DOHC engine. The four-cylinder design gives fast and smooth revs with good low to mid-range torque. Mated to a 6-speed gearbox with Honda E-Clutch, the CBR650R has a peak power of 94 HP @ 12,000 rpm and 46 lb-ft @ 9,500 rpm of maximum torque. Compare this to some others in the lot. And take a minute to gather this again — Experience 12,000 rpm on a 650cc bike!

    Spike Your Adrenaline

The 2024 model year was a major refresh for the CBR650R, with redesigned fairings, headlight, tail unit, and a new 5-inch TFT display. The same year, Honda introduced its E-Clutch technology — making the CBR650R one of the first motorcycles to offer it — and for 2026 the E-Clutch is standard equipment. The engine is almost silent at idle, although you would prefer it to be a little louder than regular bikes.

Nevertheless, with some ear drums at higher revs, the CBR650R is ready to shatter that impression. The motor is always ready to scream. And find its way through the gears. And you can hear a deep racy growl which you will enjoy. Although a decent power spread is available throughout the range, it is above 6000 rpm, where the bike is in its element.

    Chassis

The Honda CBR650R features a 41-mm Showa Separate Function Fork Big Piston (SFF-BP) inverted fork. All components are designed to reduce the motorcycle’s weight. From the twin-spar steel diamond frame with pivot plates to seat rails and engine hangers, all contribute to the overall lightness of the mobile.

You don’t have to worry about aggressive riding conditions thanks to Honda Selectable Torque Control System (HSTC). HSTC automatically adjusts the engine power to control the rear wheel torque to prevent the slip eventually. Honda has provided a handlebar-mounted switch to turn it on or off in case you want.

It makes the bike feel more composed under hard braking and over bumps. But the clutch is light, and the 6-speed gearbox with E-Clutch is smooth enough for regular riding.

With the bars set 30 mm lower and 30 mm forward, the riding position is where you can complain a bit. So, try to put more of your weight on the front wheel, as the riding position is less committed than it is found to be on bigger bikes.

    Blood, Sweat & Gears

With a seat height of 810 mm, the footpegs are 6 mm higher and 3 mm back in the CBR 650R. This may feel uncomfortable as it is far from a typical sports bike crouch. Riding may get tiring after an hour. However, fitter and younger riders may feel less.

The CBR650R is what you expect from a Honda sports bike. It is well-balanced, agile, and captivating without a backbreaking ride. The experience is fast enough and furious to take on the big boys.
